Northern Ireland's David Allingham crowned National Superstock 1000 champion at Brands Hatch after 10th victory of dominant season

Eglinton’s David Allingham was crowned the 2026 National Superstock 1000 champion after sealing his 10th victory of the season in the penultimate race of the championship on Saturday at Brands Hatch in Kent.

The Ulster rider wrapped up the title with one race to spare as he led home chief rival Luke Mossey.

It was a special moment for Allingham, who finished as the championship runner-up in 2025 to Ukraine’s Ilya Mikhalchik.

The 31-year-old celebrated with Northern Ireland team SMS/Nicholl Oils Racing as he achieved his dream of becoming the British champion.

Allingham can now look forward to a double celebration next weekend, when he will tie the knot with fiancée Megan Harkin.

He went into Saturday’s race with a 42-point lead over nearest rival Mossey (Milenco by Padgett’s Honda).

Allingham qualified in pole position and made the perfect start to 15-lap race, shooting into the lead off the line on his BMW M1000RR ahead of Mossey.

English rider Mossey made his move for the lead at Paddock Hill Bend at the start of the third lap and Allingham appeared content to follow in second place.

Billy McConnell was holding third position as the trio pulled clear of the rest and there was no change in the order until lap 11, when Mossey slowed and Allingham reclaimed the lead at Hawthorn.

On the penultimate lap, slower riders came into play and Mossey squeezed past into Druids to lead.

However, Allingham used the power of his BMW to draft past the Honda rider.

As the leaders began the final lap, once again they had to contend with slower riders and Mossey capitalised to snatch the lead at Druids.

Allingham, though, was able to respond immediately and retook the lead, with McConnell in close contention in third.

With clear track ahead, Allingham defended his lines and closed out his 10th victory of the season to clinch the title in emphatic fashion.

Mossey secured the runner-up spot with McConnell rounding out the top three.

With a maximum of 35 points available to the winner of the final race on Sunday, Allingham’s lead is unassailable and he will have the luxury of finishing a memorable season at Brands as the newly crowned champion.

Banbridge man Simon Reid finished seventh on the Carl Cox BMW by MLav Racing while Ulster Superbike champion Carl Phillips was 13th (Bell Bikesport/B&W Racing BMW).
