Simon Reid in British championship return with Michael Laverty's team on Carl Cox BMW
Simon Reid will return to the National Superstock 1000 Championship this season alongside Lewis Rollo in Michael Laverty’s MLav Racing Team.
Northern Ireland’s Reid missed last season after his ride with the IWR Honda team fell through but is back on track for 2026 on the Carl Cox BMW by MLav Racing M1000RR.

The Banbridge man, who clinched his maiden Superstock 1000 podium in 2024, has spent a lot of time over the winer riding BMW machinery for Alpha Racing in the Middle East.
“First of all, I am super excited to join the Carl Cox BMW by MLav Racing team this year, it has been something that I have been working on for a while,” said Reid.
“I have been working with Alpha Racing in the Middle East and have been involved in a few projects there that went really well and they were keen to support me. Me and Michael have always had a good relationship and now finally it has fallen into place.
“I am proud to bring Carl Cox and Alpha Racing into the MLav team and I feel that we have a really great package and a strong team of people,” added the 30-year-old.
“It was great to be at Donington Park after a test in Spain and that was super positive and I absolutely love the bike, it is so much fun to ride. I can’t wait to get the season started and get racing again here.”
Reid was ninth fastest among the Superstock riders in the two-day Donington Park test, with team-mate Rollo posting the fifth quickest lap.
Rollo, who will ride the Motorrad Central Edinburgh By MLav Racing BMW, missed most of last season through injury.
