Banbridge Academy pupil crowned Junior Champion at the RYA Youth & Schools Championship
A Banbridge Academy student has swept the board at a major sailing competition, cementing his place as one of Ireland’s brightest young talents on the water.
Year 11 pupil Adam Green claimed double honours at the RYA Youth & Schools Championship last weekend, after dominating his fleet against more than 150 competitors across nine categories.

The 15-year-old won six out of seven races to secure first place in his group, a performance that also saw him crowned Junior Male Champion and Overall Junior Champion of the event.
The victory adds to a remarkable season for Adam, who has already taken titles at the Winter Championships, Northern and Southern Championships, and the Irish Nationals. His latest win completes a clean sweep of junior sailing events across Ireland this year.
Adam’s achievements have earned him a coveted invitation to the Champion of Champions Cup in Schull, West Cork, where he will line up against elite sailors from 16 different fleets across the country. Despite being one of the youngest competitors, he is already tipped as one to watch.
