Judo trio tipped to enhance Team NI 'proud record' at Commonwealth Games
The three-strong Team NI judo squad has been backed to build on a “proud record” of Commonwealth Games success across this summer’s Glasgow tournament.
Joshua Green, Rachel Hawkes and Adam Hall will represent Team NI across July 23 to August 2 in Scotland.

"Team NI has a proud record in judo at the Commonwealth Games with medals won at every Games when the sport has been included on the programme, a total of six medals across four Games since 1990,” said Conal Heatley, Team NI chef de mission. "We have three experienced athletes heading to Glasgow and they will undoubtedly also be challenging.
"I wish them and their coaches every success on the mat.”
Green finished fifth in Birmingham four years ago and returns to his second Commonwealth Games with the target of building on multiple Irish Championship titles.
Green can also count on international honours with Montreal Pan-American Open gold plus silver across the African and Asian Opens.
Rachel Hawkes just missed out on a medal in Birmingham with fifth, the European Cup gold winner and continental Open medallist.
Adam Hall travels to Glasgow highly decorated nationally and internationally including World, Scottish and Welsh titles, plus European Cup bronze.
The Commonwealth Games features 10 sports – athletics, basketball, bowls, boxing, cycling, gymnastics (artistic), judo, netball, swimming and weightlifting – six of which include events for athletes with disabilities.
TEAM NI: Joshua Green (73kg), Rachel Hawkes (70kg) and Adam Hall (+100kg).
