Jarrett Truscott’s side picked up a losing bonus point against the students but lost ground on leaders Banbridge at the top of Division 2A and the coach is looking for an improvement in Munster.

“It gives Banbridge breathing space and puts pressure on ourselves. It could have been worse, we could have been third our fourth but UCC have a game in hand,” said Truscott.

“I said we’d know where we were after Thomond and it was an important month for us and it hasn’t gone to plan. Most of Queen’s points came late in both halves so our fitness was a problem.”

“We’re going to Nenagh and need to win, there have been a different vibe in training there has been a change in intensity and attitude.”

Lock James McAlister is injured so Richard Millar moves into the second row with Johnny Ogilby starting at blindside flanker, Ross Todd is unavailable so Ben McDonnell starts at No8.

Queen’s are sixth and host fifth place Cashel at the Dub as both sides look to enhance their playoff credentials.
