Ulster target big result to keep European Champions Cup hopes alive

Ulster must win their final Pool One game against French Top14 side Oyonnax on Saturday at Kingspan Stadium, Belfast, (1pm) with a try scoring bonus point and by a healthy margin of victory.

Then they must sit back and watch as the other four pools reach their conclusion over the weekend.

“We know what we have to do and being first up in the fixtures means others will then know what they have to do,” said Doak.

“For us it must be about getting the job done. We need a bonus point and we need a good win.

“We need to paint a good picture and put the other clubs under pressure.”

Ulster are without South African international scrumhalf, Ruan Pienaar, who has suffered from a virus this week, while new Ireland captain and Ulster skipper, Rory Best, is named on the bench – Rob Herring captaining the side from the hooker’s position.

New Irish call-up Stuart McCloskey is rested, but fellow international, Darren Cave, returns from injury and wears the 13 jersey with Luke Marshall moving to inside centre.

Nick Williams returns to the pack at number eight, having recovered from concussion.
