SCHOOLS' CUP: Holders RBAI ready for Sullivan Upper test

RBAI dispatched Coleraine Grammar School in the third round with something to spare.

The foundation for that success was laid by the RBAI pack with players such as Callum Reid and John Dickson putting in big performances at scrum time.

Director of Rugby at RBAI, Dan Soper, who is assisted by the experienced Richard Hedley, will be working hard to ensure his charges do not take their responsibilities lightly as they prepare for the game.

A comprehensive 27-7 victory, earlier in the season, against the same opposition has Belfast Inst down as favourites to win this game.

Sullivan Upper deserved their 14-0 victory against Regent House when the teams met in the third round.

It was a positive result but it came at something of a cost. Senior team coach Willie Anderson took ill on the touchline before the game got under way.

Then team captain Chris Jordan, having just scored a try, had to leave the field of play with a serious leg injury.

Both Willie and Chris are now on the way to recovery. Sullivan Upper, on their day, have the ability to cause problems for any team.

Jules Storey is one of the leading try scorers for Sullivan Upper and he has benefitted from the talents of inside backs such as Ruari Meharg, Rory Kilpatrick and Matty Moran.

Rory has been an outstanding place kicker for Sullivan this season and any ill-discipline from RBAI team will be punished if he gets the chance.

Anderson, and his coaching staff, will want Sullivan Upper to approach this game with a positive frame of mind.
