In spite of wearing protective head gear for the game in Limeirck, Cooney removed it and took another knock.

He required five stitches in the wound to add to the nine he had received following a scalp wound during the game against Southern Kings in South Africa almost three weeks ago.

Cooney explains why he took the head gear off and believes it needs to be glued on at Kingspan Stadium on Friday night for the visit of Connacht.
