With a team of qualified female instructors on hand, and access to full sailing equipment, a group of women will be given the unique opportunity to learn sailing while socialising.

While sailing is a fun-filled sport, there are also many other health benefits, including stress-busting, keeping fit and learning new skills. The WOW programme will give those who are not members of a club the chance to get out on the water and give sailing a go.

WOW begins on Sunday 15th May at Donaghadee Sailing Club and will run for four weeks, it will also run weekly from 26th June-17th July and 24th July-14th August.

RYA NI’s Active Clubs Co-Ordinator Lisa McCaffrey said: “The WOW programme is a fantastic opportunity for women to get out on the water and learn how to sail.

“WOW focuses on the social aspect of sailing rather than being competitive so it will be a great way to meet new people as well as having fun and keeping fit!

“Sailing is a thrilling sport and after the first week of sailing you’re sure to be hooked. It is also a lifetime sport and something that can be enjoyed with all the family through family membership. Give it a go and you won’t look back!”

The WOW programme costs £30 for four weeks and includes a free t-shirt. For further information, please contact Lisa McCaffrey on 07788238083 or email [email protected]
