Poet in Da Corner, The Mac Belfast, February 26-28 ‘Poet In Da Corner’, a unique production inspired by Dizzee Rascal’s ground-breaking grime album, it set to debut in Belfast at the MAC from 26th-28th February 2020. Brought by The Royal Court Theatre in London and directed by Ola Ince – music, dance and spoken word collide in Debris Stevenson’s semi-autobiographical story about how grime gave her an entirely new lease of life. Based in a strict Mormon household between East London and Essex, a young Debris is given Dizzee Rascal’s influential album ‘Boy In Da Corner’ by her best friend SS Vyper, played by MC Jammz. Ruby, Theatre at the Mill Newtownabbey, February 28 Following its critically acclaimed sell out run in 2019, Ruby! by Little Willow Productions will return to the Theatre at The Mill on Friday February 28, followed by a countrywide tour. Written by Michael Cameron, about Belfast singing star Ruby Murray. Ruby! is an intimate, fact based, one woman performance which celebrates Ruby’s life, music, triumphs as well as exploring the darker side of her story. Ruby! is a one woman show starring Libby Smyth, one of Northern Ireland’s best known and most versatile actresses. Dragon from the Lagan, W5 Belfast, until April 16 Children are born natural scientists, so why not bring them to W5 to let them imagine, explore and play in Discovery – a place where children can learn about themselves and the world around them. Coleraine Citizens Wallpaper, Flowerfield Arts Centre Portstewart, February 29 Coleraine Citizens Wallpaper is a captivating photographic and sonic installation by photo journalist Martin Nangle, which documents the natural phenomena and living communities of this spectacular area. It involves citizens’ journalism, photojournalism and sound art to document contemporary life in areas across the north of Ulster from Inishowen to the Giant’s Causeway.
