Mother’s Day, Belfast Zoo, March 22 Enjoy nature and a stroll around the 55 acre site, home to more than 120 species, the majority of which are facing increasing danger in their natural habitats. Grab the perfect chance to see new mum Surali and her first baby bongo Jumapili born at the beginning of this year. Join zoo mums Vixen, the red panda, who welcomed red panda cub Tango last year, and grab the chance to see baby François the langur born last year to mother Nicoline.

Lego Brick Wetland, Castle Espie, Comber, until April 19 Back by popular demand, Northern Ireland’s only giant LEGOAE brick wetland animal trail returns to WWT Castle Espie Wetland Centre in Comber. Exclusively designed for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) a total of 253,728 LEGOAE bricks and 1561 hours were used to bring 14 specially designed LEGOAE brick models to life. The giant animals, some up to twelve times life size, include Bruce the Red Breasted Goose; Lottie the Otter and Natalie the Nene and can be found hiding amongst our beautiful wetlands alongside some of their real-life cousins. As well as the trail, visitors over four years old can take part in our unique and popular interactive LEGOAE brick workshops, perfect for LEGO fans – young and old.

Spring Fling, Brownlow House, March 28 Back by popular demand, Northern Ireland’s favourite shopping event, Frock Around The Clock, will be returning to beautiful Brownlow House in Lurgan for The Spring Fling 2020. Featuring 35 quality stalls of handmade and vintage loveliness, there will be everything from fashion accessories and jewellery to homewares and collectables, home bakery to natural skincare and delicious sweet treats, as well as local art and crafts.

Down’s and Proud Day, Woodville Arms Lurgan, April 4 Lurgan based charity Down’s and Proud will be holding their big annual fundraiser next month in The Woodville Arms. There will be a children’s fancy dress fun day with dancers, a Disney princess show, superheroes, a magician and face-painters. The Down’s & Proud choir are also singing a few songs. In the evening there will be a quiz night, disco and raffle for the adults. Tickets on sale at The Woodville.
