Fifty more seats have just been released for a very special musical event: the chance to sing under the direction of John Rutter, one of the world’s most beloved choral composers, in the amazing surroundings of St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast, this month.

For many singers, John Rutter’s music is woven into their earliest choral memories.
This special project, part of the Charles Wood Centenary Festival, on the afternoon of Saturday 18 April, offers the rare opportunity to perform that music with the composer himself, guided by his distinctive warmth, insight, and infectious musical energy.
The event sold out within days of tickets going on sale.
Now, 50 more tickets have been released and are available to purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.
Richard Yarr, Chair of the Charles Wood Festival of Music, said: "Due to overwhelming demand, we’re delighted to share that we have secured an additional 50 seats for our Come & Sing with Sir John Rutter at St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast. A huge thank you to St Anne’s Cathedral for making this possible."

To sing his music in a cathedral acoustic, led by the composer, is an experience few will ever forget.
Sir John Rutter said: "It's an enormous pleasure to be returning to the glorious setting of St Anne's Cathedral for another Singing Day. Anyone who loves choral singing is welcome, and the music will be a mixture of choral favourites old and new, some of my own music, and a few surprises. Hope to see you there!"
Open to singers of all backgrounds, this event brings together individual singers and choirs for a shared journey of rehearsal and performance.
No audition is required, just a love of singing and a readiness to be part of something truly special.
This promises to be a real celebration of choral music, community, and the sheer thrill of making music together at the highest level.
The Charles Wood Centenary Festival marks 100 years since the death of one of Ireland’s most influential composers, bringing together world-class musicians, emerging talent, scholars, and communities in a landmark celebration of his life and work.
Running throughout 2026 and culminating in a major Festival Week for everyone this August, the Centenary programme blends competition, education, performance, and new commissions, honouring Charles Wood’s enduring influence on choral and sacred music while investing boldly in its future.
