Exclusive Unveiling of Mark Burrell’s New Body of Work at Lough Erne Resort
An exclusive two-day art viewing featuring acclaimed contemporary artist Mark Burrell will take place at Lough Erne Resort on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 May, from 2pm to 5pm.

Curated by Hambly & Hambly, the intimate viewing will present a new series of previously unseen works, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience a distinctive and compelling collection in an elegant setting.
This latest body of work marks a notable evolution in Burrell’s practice. Working on a larger scale and introducing more vibrant colour palettes, the artist creates pieces that are visually engaging at first glance while revealing greater depth and complexity over time. The collection balances a sense of playfulness with more considered, reflective undertones, encouraging viewers to spend time with each piece and form their own interpretation.

Born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1965, Mark Burrell completed his BA in Fine Art at Leeds Polytechnic in 1988 and went on to achieve an MA in Fine Art from the Norwich School of Art and Design in 1993. Now based on the east coast of Kent, he has exhibited widely in London and internationally. His works are held in numerous private collections, including the Tim Sayer Collection.
Burrell’s practice is rooted in an exploration of the human condition, examining the relationship between the individual and the wider world. His work blends abstraction and representation, often incorporating found materials to create layered, tactile surfaces that speak to memory, impermanence and lived experience.
In his own words, Mark explains: “Through my work I have sought to explore the human condition, the complexities of existence, and the relationship between the individual and the world. I hope my art speaks of existential questions, the fragility of human existence, and the search for meaning amidst the chaos of life.”
Curator Ciara Hambly describes the new series as a confident and exciting progression in the artist’s work: “This vibrant new series sees Mark Burrell introduce striking new colour palettes and increased scale, creating works that immediately draw the viewer in. Each painting holds a balance of energy and depth, offering something new with every viewing.

“These works offer a rare opportunity to engage with one of the UK’s most exciting contemporary artists. They bring individuality, character and a strong sense of presence, making each piece a pleasure to experience.”
Set within the surroundings of Lough Erne Resort, the viewing invites collectors, art enthusiasts and the public to experience this impressive new collection in an intimate and relaxed environment.
