Ms McCarthy also called on those using social media platforms to stop calling on people to take to the streets calling on men of eighteen and over to come dressed in dark clothing and be prepared to fight and be arrested is not peaceful protest. Creating violence in their own community serves no useful purpose and causes more violence.

The unscrupulous groups in our society who high jack what is a traumatic experience for the families and friends of the victim and those who witnessed the attack. They care nothing for the safety of their communities. It is time for real leadership from our politicians and community leaders to stand up to those who for their own political agenda are willing to invoke hatred and violence within their own communities. It is time for cool heads and strong leadership, “it is time to stand up to not stand with those who seek only hatred and division”.
