Strident Media's BBC Documentary Wins Major Human Trafficking Award
Strident Media is celebrating UK-wide recognition for its powerful documentary 'Caitlin Hanna: Trafficked in Belfast', made for the BBC.

The Belfast-based production company has been awarded Best Broadcast Story on Human Trafficking at the 2026 Anti-Slavery Day Awards, following an independent selection by the Human Trafficking Foundation, which monitors coverage of human trafficking and modern slavery across UK media.
The judges praised the documentary for its powerful storytelling, sensitive treatment of the subject and its contribution to shining a light on the realities of human trafficking.

The film was selected alongside entries from broadcasters including Channel 4 and Sky News.
The award was presented to Peter McCann from Strident Media, on behalf of the documentary director Grace Sweeney, at a ceremony in the State Rooms of The Speaker’s House, Westminster, on Monday (October 12), by Satvir Kaur MP (Minister for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls).
Grace Sweeney, Director of the film, said: “I feel deeply appreciative to have been a part of the team telling Caitlin's story. To me, this award recognises the bravery of her friends and family and of all of the trafficking victims."
It is the second time Strident Media has been recognised by the awards, following a previous nomination for 'Hunting the Catfish Crime Gang'.
