Ursula Meighan Chairperson of the Workers Party Women’s Committee has condemned the Hate Fest which took place in Northern Ireland last night

Ms Meighan said what happened on Monday night was horrific and the police have the perpetrator in custody and he is being charged and the legal proceedings will now proceed. The hate fest that was encouraged last night by right wing players in Northern Ireland and others from further afield was despicable homes and businesses burnt out, cars and buses set on fire and all within their own communities.

Ms Meighan said these people claim to be protecting women and children from foreign nationals you may rape, kill and abuse them, but that is a false narrative to excuse their hate crimes. All of their hero’s have in fact been convicted of wife beating, rape, and sexual abuse of children. Especially the wealthy foreigners who support and defend and give funding to these far right activists.

Ms Meighan added over 30 women have died across Northern Ireland they were stabbed by white local males, where was the outrage and violence then, thankfully there was none. But it gives the lie to “those who claim we must protect our culture and values” and the only way to do so get rid of all our ethics minorities especially if they are coloured or have a different faith. What took place last night was mob rule, like Nazi stormtrooper without the jackboots kicking in doors and burning homes and terrifying women and children. This hate fest will continue unless community leaders and politicians demonstrate real leadership and tell these criminals that they are not welcome in their communities. We can not and should not get away by claiming this was peaceful protest, and a few bad apples caused the riots. This was an organised and orchestrated show of violence and intimidation, and has brought shame on our communities and our society.
