A beary special visit to Safe & Sound Nursery for BBC Children in Need

Children at Safe & Sound Nursery in Ballynahinch were all smiles as they joined in the fun to raise money for BBC Children in Need with Pudsey Bear.
Organised by Asda Downpatrick Community Champion, Linda Owens, the two visits were complete with cosy pyjamas, dancing and a special appearance from Pudsey Bear.
The visit comes as Asda celebrates an incredible 25 years of partnership with BBC Children in Need. Since 2000, Asda has raised over £38 million for the charity, supporting over 350,000 children and young people across the UK.
The nurseries were full of excitement as Pudsey arrived to meet the children, who were dressed in their cosiest PJs for the occasion. Across both nursery visits, an impressive £360 was raised for BBC Children in Need while the children enjoyed dancing, sweets and plenty of hugs and high fives with Pudsey – making it a day to remember for everyone involved.

Asda Downpatrick Community Champion Linda Owens said:
“It was such a joy to visit Safe & Sound Nursery and see the children’s faces light up when Pudsey came through the door. It was such a lovely atmosphere. We had two brilliant visits to the nursery, and the children had so much fun and lots of disco dancing!
“I’m so proud to have played a part in helping raise vital funds for young people across the UK and so overwhelmed at how generous everyone was. It really made the day so special.”
BBC Children in Need funds thousands of projects and charities across the UK that support children and young people facing challenges such as poverty, disability or mental health struggles. Every pound raised helps to make a real difference in their lives.
Fundraising will take place at Asda stores across the UK throughout the week, with the total amount raised revealed live on air during the BBC Children in Need telethon on Friday (Nov 14th).
