'An attractive place to invest and grow': Irish software platform company to create fully remote delivery team in Northern Ireland
Phorest to establish products, engineering and operations team with £162,500 in Invest NI support
Irish software company Phorest is to create 25 jobs in Northern Ireland over the next three years as it establishes a fully remote team spanning product development, engineering and operations.

Headquartered in Dublin, Phorest provides an all-in-one software platform for premium hair and beauty salons, spas and aesthetic clinics. Its services include appointment management, online booking, marketing and integrated payments.
The company employs around 450 people globally and said the new Northern Ireland team would support its international growth and growing customer base.
Invest Northern Ireland has offered £162,500 in financial support to secure the investment for Northern Ireland over competing locations, including Croatia, Portugal, North America and Estonia.
Anne Beggs, chief commercial officer at Invest NI, welcomed the announcement during a meeting with the company at the agency’s Southern Regional office in Newry.
“We are delighted that Phorest has chosen Northern Ireland as the location for its new team,” she said.
“This success reflects the strong partnership built over several years between Phorest and Invest NI, led initially by our team in Dublin who first engaged with the company in 2018 and continued to champion Northern Ireland as an attractive place to invest and grow.”
Ms Beggs said the investment would further strengthen Northern Ireland’s position in software and digital services, while providing new career opportunities across the region.
“The 25 new roles will offer high-quality career opportunities. As the positions are fully remote, they will be accessible to talented people right across Northern Ireland, helping to create opportunities across the region,” she added.
Sylvie McDermott, chief operating officer at Phorest, said the new team would form part of the company’s long-term strategy to expand its international delivery capabilities.
“As demand for the Phorest platform continues to grow, this new team will play an important role in helping us scale in a controlled and sustainable way while maintaining the high standards of service and innovation our customers expect,” she said.
“Northern Ireland impressed us with its highly skilled talent pool, strong technology ecosystem and excellent connectivity. The flexibility of our working model will allow us to attract talented people from across the region.
“We look forward to building our team here and becoming part of Northern Ireland’s thriving technology sector.”
The new positions will include software engineers at various levels, including graduates, product managers, customer specialists and test engineers.
