Award-winning Northern Ireland brewery adds two new beers to Tesco NI range

An independent and family run brewery in Randalstown has expanded its range of products on sale at Tesco with two more more award-winning beers.

The Co Antrim based 'Our Brewery' bills itself as making beer "for people who care about quality and balance". Founded in 2021, the business emerged from a brewing equipment showroom, becoming a working brewery dedicated to experimental and historically inspired fermentation.

The brewery uses traditional techniques, carefully sourced ingredients, and natural influences of its environment to produce beers “that take time and patience to perfect”.

Its two latest offersing, 'Light Up Gold', a West Coast Indian Pale Ale and 'Hang Up Your Hang Ups', a hazy Indian Pale Ale, will be available in 28 selected Tesco Extra and Superstores across Northern Ireland from October.

Tesco NI currently stocks four beers from the company: 'Pressure to Pick', an Italian Pilsner; 'Modern Love', a pale ale, as well as 'Do You Wanna Funk?' a New England Indian Pale Ale and 'Prime Time of Your Life', a Belgian tripel.

Jonathan Mitchell, co-founder of Our Brewery, said: “Tesco’s support has helped us bring our beers to more people across Northern Ireland. Adding Light Up Gold and Hang Up Your Hang Ups to their shelves is another exciting step.”

“We’re incredibly proud of the recognition our beers have received this year. We don’t brew beer to win awards; our focus is on ingredients, fermentation, process, judgement and time. We release a beer when we believe it is ready.

“To have beers from our core range recognised alongside barrel-aged, mixed-fermentation, sour and wild beers that can take years to make, is hugely encouraging for a small independent brewery.”

All the company’s beer in the current Tesco NI range have received independent recognition this year.

Most recently, at the Irish Quality Food & Drink Awards 2026, 'Pressure to Pick' took Gold, 'Do You Wanna Funk?' received Silver, and 'Hang Up Your Hang Ups' and 'Modern Love' each secured Bronze.

Earlier in the year, 'Light Up Gold', 'Modern Love', 'Pressure to Pick' and 'Hang Up Your Hang Ups' were recognised at the World Beer Awards 2026.

'Pressure to Pick' and 'Do You Wanna Funk?' also received Stars at the Great Taste Awards 2026.

Michael Crealey, Lead Packaged Buying Manager at Tesco Northern Ireland, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing ‘Light Up Gold’ and ‘Hang Up Your Hang Ups’ into the Tesco NI range this October, adding to an already exciting line-up for customers.”

“Seeing Our Brewery collect awards and recognition across three major competitions this year is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the team at Randalstown.

“Northern Ireland has a brilliant food and drink industry. Working with suppliers like Our Brewery, allows us to support local businesses while offering customers exciting, high-quality products made close to home.”

Last summer Our Brewery achieved global recognition when it took home two ‘World’s Best’ titles at the earlier 2025 World Beer Awards.

In total, Our Brewery secured an impressive 12 medals – including seven golds for Best in Ireland, one silver, and four bronze in the national category. Two of those gold-winning beers went on to be crowned the best in the world in their categories.

From thousands of entries worldwide, Low Land Oud Bruin and Seasur Mixed Ferm Saison first triumphed as Ireland’s best in their respective styles, before being judged World’s Best by an international panel of industry experts.
