Award-winning singer/songwriter Lee Matthews takes agriculture by storm with new single

‘The Farmer Wants A Wife’ is the name of his latest self-penned hit, which is already going down a treat with farmers around the UK and Ireland. The song sets the scene of a farmer who is looking for love, all while tending to his livestock and land. The catchy tune is accompanied with a quirky video; featuring lyrics, livestock and a shiny big John Deere tractor. They say nothing runs like a Deere, and the video has already hit almost 10,000 views on YouTube and is spreading like wildfire across social media. With its catchy melody and clever lyrics, it is even being compared with agri-hit ‘Hit The Diff.’

The silage season song has come after Lee’s success with his previous self-penned songs featured in his latest album, It’s A Great Day To Be Alive.’ The first track on the album has resulted in huge success; ‘Cotton Eye Joe’ was voted ‘Song Of The Year’ at two different award ceremonies and was given remarkable airtime on the radio airwaves. The double award-winning hit was an adaptation of the original ‘Cotton Eye Joe’ with some verses written by Lee.

The Tyrone heartthrob has put pen to paper more frequently in recent years, creating hits including ‘The Irish Way,’ ‘That Country Girl’ and ‘There’s Irish In Our Eyes.’ The boy band singer turned country superstar is showing the songwriters how it’s done, and rumour has it he has another catchy self-penned single on the way.
