Northern Ireland engineering company secures funding for major aquarium in Singapore

Northern Ireland aquarium engineering and manufacturing company is set to build a major new aquarium in Southeast Asia after receiving a funding package.
ELSS Engineering in Limavady will use the seven-figure HSBC UK Trade Finance package as a financial guarantee to begin the construction of the aquarium project.

The ELSS team will be involved in the design, manufacture and installation of the aquarium on the ground in Singapore.
ELSS, founded in 2005, has now completed projects in six continents and 37 countries including SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, the largest aquarium in the world. Later this year, the multi-million dollar contract is due for completion.
Jeffrey Martin McAteer, chair of the board of directors at ELSS Engineering Ltd, said: "The board of directors are excited to have secured this exciting new contract in Singapore thanks to HSBC’s international banking capabilities. Being able to operate on a global scale allows us to work on some of the largest aquariums around the world.
