'Sign of the confidence we have in the future': Northern Ireland hotel targets growth with key management appointment
Catrina Myers joins the Londonderry hotel after more than 30 years in hospitality, as it looks to grow its corporate, wedding, conference and events business
Londonderry’s The Belfray Country Inn Hotel has announced the appointment of Catrina Myers as its new business development manager, as the hotel continues to invest in its future growth and strengthen its presence across the north west.

The appointment comes during an exciting period for The Belfray, following local man Jason Deery taking over the running of the hotel earlier this year after previously serving as general manager for four years.
In her new role, Catrina will be responsible for developing new business opportunities across the hotel, with a particular focus on corporate accommodation, weddings, conferences and meetings, private functions, group business and major events.
She will also work closely with local businesses, organisations and partners to develop new relationships and strengthen The Belfray's position within the local hospitality and events market.
Jason said: “We're delighted to welcome Catrina to The Belfray team. This is an important appointment for us and another sign of the confidence we have in the future of the hotel.
“Since taking over The Belfray, I've been very clear that I want us to build on everything the hotel is already known and loved for, while also looking for new opportunities to grow the business.
“We have fantastic facilities here, an experienced team and a great location just minutes from the city. There is a huge opportunity for us to further develop our corporate, wedding, conference, accommodation and events business.
“Catrina will play a key role in that next stage of our development, getting out into the local business community, building relationships and making sure more people and organisations discover what The Belfray has to offer.”
The appointment forms part of a wider period of development at The Belfray Country Inn, with the hotel continuing to invest in its offering while retaining the character and personal service for which it has become well known.
Jason added: “The Belfray has always had a strong connection with the local community, and that's something that's incredibly important to me.
“As we grow, we want to work even more closely with businesses and organisations throughout Derry and the wider North West.
“This appointment is about being proactive, building those relationships and creating new opportunities — not just for The Belfray, but for the people, suppliers and businesses we work alongside.”
Catrina explained: ”I’m delighted to be joining The Belfray Country Inn Hotel at such an exciting time for the hotel. I’ve spent over 30 years working in the hospitality industry, building a wealth of experience across hotel operations, sales, business development, catering and customer service. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of customers and businesses, building strong relationships and understanding what it takes to deliver a great guest experience.
"I’m passionate about hospitality and particularly enjoy the business development side of the industry - creating new opportunities, building relationships and helping businesses grow and succeed. I’m really looking forward to getting out and meeting businesses and organisations throughout the area, building new connections and showcasing everything The Belfray has to offer.
“There is a real ambition for the future of the hotel, and I’m excited to be part of the team as we enter this next chapter.’
