'We look for brands who can truly stand out': Northern Ireland timepiece maker now stocked by luxury Dublin jeweller
‘It’s a powerful moment in our journey’: Belfast’s Nomadic Watches has secured a significant boost to its profile after becoming stocked by Weir & Sons, one of Dublin’s most recognisable and historic luxury retailers
Belfast watch brand Nomadic Watches is now stocked by one of Dublin’s most recognisable luxury retailers, Weir & Sons, marking a major milestone for the young Irish company.
Founded in 1869 by Thomas Weir, Weir & Sons has built a long-standing reputation as one of Dublin’s premier destinations for luxury timepieces and jewellery.
Nomadic, founded in 2021 by Peter McAuley, has quickly carved out a distinctive position through its blend of contemporary design and Irish heritage. Its high-quality, design-led timepieces have attracted watch enthusiasts around the world, making the brand a natural fit for Weir & Sons.
Chris Andrews, managing director of Weir & Sons explained: “Quality is paramount for us. We look for brands who can truly stand out – brands that align with our values and offer something distinctive. Nomadic does exactly that. The watches are beautifully made, represent excellent value, and being an Irish brand makes the partnership a natural fit for Weir & Sons.”
Nomadic’s full range will be available both online and at the brand’s historic Grafton Street store. The range includes timepieces which all draw inspiration from Ireland’s rich history – from expedition watches inspired by Ernest Shackleton to a dive watch which echoes the RMS Titanic’s production name – Project 401.
All Nomadic watches have a yellow second’s hand which has been an integral part of Nomadic timepieces from the beginning – it is used to symbolise the iconic Samson & Goliath cranes which dominate Belfast’s skyline. Customers who have yet to visit Nomadic’s Belfast flagship can now discover the collection in the heart of Dublin.

Peter McAuley, founder of Nomadic Watches, added: “As an Irish watch brand, standing on Grafton Street is something I never take for granted. Seeing Nomadic alongside some of the world’s greatest watch brands is a deeply proud moment for me personally.
"To be part of Weir & Sons, a name that has represented craftsmanship and trust in Ireland for generations, makes this milestone even more special. It’s a powerful moment in our journey and a reminder of why we started Nomadic in the first place.”
