When pink meets green: Ballymena bakery and Applegreen team up to sweeten the road!
The roads have got a whole lot sweeter (and a lot more colourful!) as Dougies Goodies officially launched with Applegreen on Friday at their Applegreen, Lisburn services, Southbound site
Travellers and commuters in Lisburn have a reason to smile as Dougies Goodies officially launched in partnership with Applegreen.
The collaboration at the Lisburn services, Southbound site brings Dougies Goodies’ signature treats to the fore, combining Applegreen’s on-the-go convenience with the bakery’s playful pink branding and irresistible bakes.
Dougies Goodies began in Ballymena in 1983 when a young baker named Dougie discovered his knack for creating mouth-watering cakes and bakes. What started as a one-man operation quickly grew into a cherished local institution, celebrated for its warm community spirit and delicious treats.
Nearly 40 years later, new owners Frank and Georgina Warwick have expanded the brand to over 80 retail partner stores across Northern Ireland, opened a flagship store in Belfast city centre, and continued Dougie’s legacy of baking with heart—and plenty of pink.
Johnny Hunter, commercial director of Dougies Goodies, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be launching with Applegreen.
"This partnership allows us to share the Dougies Goodies experience with even more people. Whether you’re commuting, travelling or stopping off to refuel, we’re excited to make this experience a little sweeter in partnership with Applegreen.”
Mark Morgan, regional manager at Applegreen explained: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Dougies Goodies and introduce this beloved local brand to Applegreen Lisburn South.
"We are excited to present Dougies Goodies to our customers on the road, and announce we are going live from Friday 14th November.”
Customers can now enjoy their favourite Dougies Goodies bakes at the Lisburn Southbound site, with plans for further expansion in the coming months.
