A-levels 2026: Principals congratulate 'tenacious' students and name some of those who got four A*s
Across Northern Ireland, a small handful of A-level students attained a truly stellar academic feat: four A*s.
At Ballymena Academy, this was accomplished by pupil Ashton Mui.

The percentage of the school’s pupils attaining three A* to C grades at A-level was “well above 90%” said a statement from the school, with outgoing principal Stephen Black saying they are the best results ever achieved in a “normal” examination year.
And at Banbridge Academy, the feat of four A* grades was achieved by two students: Reuben Robinson and Luke Stafford.

Principal Robin McLoughlin praised his teachers’ “dedication and commitment”, and the “tenacity” of the students, adding: “Collectively, we celebrate the success of our students and we commend the Class of 2026 for their resilience and maturity.
“We thank them for the memories they have created in the academy and wish them every success in the next stage of their educational journey.”
Hazelwood Integrated College in north Belfast said that the subjects of Hospitality, Health and Social Care, Child Development, and Sports Studies recorded “a 100% success rate at grades A* to C”.
Its principal Alix Jackson said that she feels “immensely proud of all our students”.
South Belfast’s Campbell College said it had its “best-ever set of A-level results”, with 95% of students bound for university having secured their first choice.
Headmaster Jonathan Anderson said he was “enormously grateful” to his teachers and to the pupils’ families, adding: “Ultimately, however, this success belongs to the boys themselves.”
