Funeral details released for tragic university student Jeni Larmour - 2 weeks after sudden death

Funeral details have been released for tragic 18-year-old Jeni Larmour - who was found dead two weeks ago in student accomodation in Newcastle.

Jeni died around 24 hours after her mother Sandra had settled her into her new student accommodation.

The next morning she received the devastating phone call that her daughter had been found unconscious. Jeni subsequently passed away.

A former deputy head girl at Armagh Royal School, she had only just moved to Newcastle to study Architecture and urban planning.

Police have since confirmed they are investigating the deaths of Miss Larmour, another 18-year-old female student from the same halls at Newcastle, a 21-year-old male student at Northumbria University, and an 18-year-old man, who was not a student, in nearby Washington.

Northumbria Police confirmed in the following days that 10 arrests had been made in relation to the deaths of four young people, including three students.

A death notice on funeraltimes.com says the young Newtownhamilton woman died suddenly on October 3.

It adds that Jeni Victoria Larmour is the ‘much loved daughter’ and Sandra and David and the ‘adored sister’ of Daniel.

The funeral notice adds that due to the current COVID-19 restriction her home and funeral service will be private.

The notice adds that “friends wishing to pay their respects can do so, whilst maintaining social distancing, as the cortege leaves the family home on Saturday at 1.30pm” and travels to Ballynahone Cemetery, Armagh, for a private committal.
