12 Covid-19 related deaths recorded in last 24 hours - ICU bed capacity increases

The Department of Health (DoH) has recorded 12 new Covid-19 related deaths in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours.

The DoH records a death as Covid-19 related if the individual tested positive for coronavirus within 28 days of their death.

Eight of the 12 deaths recorded in the 24 hours until 10.00am on Thursday occurred within that time period.

The four remaining deaths occurred outside this time frame but were officially recorded within the last 24 hours.

The total number of Covid-19 related deaths in Northern Ireland is 752.

The DoH also recorded 506 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

It takes the total number of people to test positive in Northern Ireland to 41,374 - 4,256 of these occurred in the last seven days.

The DoH dashboard also reveals the total number of intensive care unit (ICU) beds has increased to 126 - 22 of which are unoccupied.

The total number of people with Covid-19 in hospital throughout Northern Ireland is 409.

Meanwhile, the Northern Ireland Executive is meeting today to discuss measures put in place to stop the spread of the virus.

It is believed the Executive will consider a possible extension to the ‘circuit breaker’ lockdown which is due to end on November 13.
