DUP man John Carson blames COVID-19 pandemic on NI abortion and same sex marriage

A publicly elected DUP councillor has blamed the COVID-19 pandemic on the reformation of abortion legislation and the legalisation of same sex marriage in Northern Ireland.

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council Alderman John Carson made the claims on his personal Facebook profile via a public post.

"I said when abortion was legalised that our nation would be judged by God because of its departure from his word and the legalisation of the murder of the unborn child as well as same sex marriage," wrote Alderman Carson.

"I was laughed at and mocked by some but as l said at the time they laughed at Noah until the rain started.

"You reap what you sow and our nation is now reaping the judgement of God because of an immoral and corrupt government.

"It is time to repent and turn again to the God of our fathers," declared Alderman Carson.

Alderman Carson published the post on Tuesday evening.

The DUP has distanced itself from Alderman Carson's post saying it does not reflect the opinion of the party.

To date, 30 people have died after testing positive for Coronavirus COVID-19 in Northern Ireland.
