Cannabis factory uncovered in south Belfast

Police have dismantled a cannabis factory at a house in Mowhan Street in South Belfast.

During the operation officers from the District Support Team based at Antrim Road seized a large number of cannabis plants.

A search was carried out at the house as part of a proactive operation on January 20.

Constable Michael Johnson said, “ Approximately 100 cannabis plants and an assortment of apparatus used for the cultivation of cannabis plants was seized.

“No arrests have been made at this stage however inquiries are ongoing.

“I would encourage anyone with any information about illegal drugs to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. “
