Corbyn backs EU so voters should do opposite: NI Ukip candidate
The Labour leader – who has heavily criticised the EU throughout his career – declared that his party is “overwhelmingly convinced” of the merits of remaining inside the continental union.
Mr Corbyn said that while “shortcomings” within the EU remain, the UK can best seek to change them by remaining a member.

Hide AdUkip East Belfast Assembly candidate Jonny Lavery issued a statement following his remarks, in which he said: “Jeremy Corbyn is wrong on so many issues that, now that he asks people to stay in the EU, they should sit up and take notice.
“If Corbyn wants it, the rule of thumb for sensible people should be to do exactly the opposite.”
He added that “staying in the EU is unthinkable with all the serious economic dangers staying in would bring as the eurozone crumbles”.
East Antrim DUP MP Sammy Wilson, meanwhile, issued a statement which said Jeremy Corbyn’s stance “lacks credibility”.
