Armagh metal bar attack: Man charged with strangulation and assault
A man is to appear in court accused of strangulation and assault, following an incident in Armagh earlier this week.
The victim of the attack, alleged to have happened in the Brookhill Crescent part of the city on Monday evening, has previously been reported as a man in his 50s.

Police have previously alleged that another man entered a property and grabbed the victim around the neck, attempting to choke him, before punching him and swinging a metal bar into his arm and hand.
According to earlier police reports, the attacker left the scene but returned a short time later, then damaged a window and door.
A 34-year-old man has now been charged with non-fatal strangulation or asphyxiation, plus criminal damage, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and two counts of assault.
He’s also charged with disorderly behaviour, resisting police, and burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.
The man is due to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning (26th).
