A1 dual carriageway closed due to serious road traffic accident

The A1 dual carriageway northbound between Newry and Banbridge is closed and the police and NI Fire Service are on the scene.

Local diversions and drivers are urged to approach the area with care and find alternative routes.

Newry and Mourne MLA Liz Kimmins said: “Due to a collision on the A1 Northbound between Newry and Banbridge the dual carriageway is currently closed. Emergency services are at the scene and diversions are in place.

Hope everyone involved is OK.”
