Man aged 22 is charged with online child sex offences including blackmail

The suspect, who was detained in the Toome area of south Antrim earlier today, was held on suspicion of the offences of sexual communication with a child, inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity, possession of indecent images of a child and blackmail.

The alleged offences related to two separate child victims.

Then later in the evening police said: “Detectives have charged a 22-year-old man on with a number of online child sex offences including sexual communication with a child and blackmail.

"He is due to appear before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, January 11.”
