Police probe theft link to crashed car abandoned at Carrickfergus forest

A vehicle containing stolen goods was found crashed and abandoned on the outskirts of Carrickfergus last night (Thursday).

The PSNI are investigating a link between the incident and an earlier theft.

Police Mid and East Antrim stated: “This evening after 21.30 hours a number of items were stolen from a car parked at Woodburn Forest carpark.

“A short distance away a car was then located crashed in a hedge with a number of the stolen items inside the car.

“Unfortunately the driver wasn’t with the car when we arrived, but we’d be keen to talk to them.

“If you were in the Woodburn Road area this evening and saw anything suspicious please call us on 101 or anonymously ring crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. The reference number is 2067 30/07/20.”
