Public is warned of virus scam

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council says a bogus caller, claiming to be from the Environmental Health service, is contacting organisations and premises saying they are in breach of Covid regulations and could be fined £2,000.

The council has asked anyone who has recently been approached in a similar manner to report it immediately to the PSNI on the non-emergency telephone number 101.

“Any contact the Council makes with the public in relation to Council services will be through personal contact by authorised staff who will have Council-issued identification,” the council says in a statement.
