​A van has been completely destroyed in an arson attack at business premises in Comber.

​Police are appealing for information following the incident in the Glen Road area of the County Down town on Thursday.

Police say they received a report of a burnt out van which had been set on fire in the early hours of the morning shortly after 11am on Thursday.

It is believed two individuals wearing hoods and face coverings, entered the business site shortly after 2am before setting the van alight.

The van was completely destroyed with minor damage caused to the side of the building where the vehicle was situated.

The two individuals then made off on foot in the direction of a nearby field, located to the back of the business site.

Enquiries are ongoing to determine the motive and police are appealing to anyone with any information or dash-cam footage that could assist the investigation to get in touch on 101 quoting reference number 558 09/01/24.
