Funerals for two men who lost their lives on NI roads

Funerals will be held tomorrow and on Friday for two young men who lost their lives on Northern Ireland's roads.

Gareth Wilson, in his 20s and from a rural area to the south of Omagh, died after the car in which he was travelling hit a wall in Cootehill, Co Cavan just before 6pm on Sunday.

On the same day motorbike rider Jay Curtis Reardon died after a collision to the west of Newtownards at about 12.50pm.

He was 21 and from the Holywood hills area to the east of Belfast.

Mr Reardon’s funeral service will take place at 2pm tomorrow in 1st Holywood Presbyterian Church and then on to Clandyboye Cemetery.

Mr Wilson’s remains will leave his home at Grotty Road, Tattyreagh, Omagh at 10am on Friday. Requiem Mass will then take place in St Lawrence’s Church in Fintona at 11am.

There have been a string of serious crashes and deaths on the roads in recent weeks.
