The main parade, organised by Belfast Junior County Lodge, will leave Price William Way at 12.30pm and proceed through the town centre to Joymount car park.

Senior officers and juniors representing three Belfast Districts, and a number of other lodges from across Northern Ireland, accompanied by as many as a dozen bands, are due to participate.

Among the dignitaries on parade will be Junior Grand Master Roy Nixon, as well as a number of visitors from Scotland and England.

As this year marks the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, wreaths will be laid as a mark of respect at the town’s war memorial. The special remembrance service will be led by Rev Mervyn Gibson, chaplain of the County Grand Orange Lodge of Belfast.

The return parade is due to commence at 3.30pm.

The Junior Orange parade has been held on an annual basis since 1919.
