Man injured in north Antrim gang assault

A 42-year-old man sustained head, leg and back injuries during a gang assault in Ballymoney last night.

Police are appealing for information following the assault which took place in an alleyway in McAfee Place shortly after 10.10pm when the man was attacked by a number of people.

A PSNI spokesman said the victim’s injuries - which are being treated in hospital - are not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Sergeant Kyle Lucas, of Reactive and Organised Crime at Coleraine, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the assault or anyone who has information that may assist in the investigation, to contact police on 101.

“Alternatively, information can be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
