Updated plans for massive hotel opposite Belfast's main police station
Updated plans for a massive new building in Belfast are being unveiled to the public.
The roughly 150-room hotel, to be called The Ann, would be built on the site of The Tipsy Bird bar on Ann Street, opposite the city’s main police station.

The plans were first revealed in 2024, and also cover the courtyard to the rear of the bar and the vacant listed Jamison and Green building.
Glendola Leisure said yesterday that it has updated its plans since 2024 “to ensure the sympathetic regeneration of the prominent city centre block”, and it intends to lodge a full planning application in early 2027.
A public consultation event will take place on November 24 from 3pm to 7pm in The Tipsy Bird.
