Man is freed on bail over weapon and threat charges

A Ballymena man was in court on Friday accused of having weapons and making a threat to kill.

Appearing in the dock at Coleraine Magistrates Court, 31-year-old Matthew Bradbury confirmed he understood the three charges against him.

Bradbury, from Moat Road, is accused of having a baseball bat and a knife with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, threatening to kill a man, and having a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence – all allegedly on May 24 this year.

District judge Liam McNally freed Bradbury on bail but imposed several conditions which bar him from entering Larne and from consuming alcohol.

He was ordered to come back to court on June 22.
