Motorcyclist who died in crash named by police

A motorcyclist who died following a crash involving a tractor in Newtownards on Thursday has been named by the PSNI.

A spokesperson said: “Police can confirm that the man who died following a two vehicle road traffic collision at the Ballyblack Road East in Newtownards, was 66-year-old Alisdair Wallace from the Kircubbin area.”

PSNI Inspector Robinson said: “It was reported to police at 4.50pm that a car and a motorbike were involved in a collision. Tragically, the motorcyclist died at the scene following his injuries.

“Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or why may have dash-cam footage available, to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1467 of 01/04/21.”
