Grieving for the Orlando dead

I am not a homosexual but I must say I was grieved for all those people who were shot at Orlando.

I am not alone. Although the Bible makes it clear that homosexuality is wrong see Leviticus C18v22 yet no one has any right to punish them. God does not do murder and we who are different should remember that we have broken God’s commandments in other ways.

We all need God’s mercy and we should let Him do the judging. He wants us all to repent and be saved.

Most of us are so ignorant that now when we see two women or two men together we are tempted to think wrongly. But consider the following. All same sex relationships are not wrong.

In 2 Samuel C1v26 are the words of David about Jonathan ‘ Thy love was wonderful passing the love of women’ and in John C13v23 are the words ‘Now there leaned on Jesus bosom or breast one of his disciples whom he loved’.

I have heard it said 50 years ago that George Jeffreys and three other ministers in the Elim Revival Party vowed never to marry but to support each other while serving the Lord to the end.

So let us remember, be merciful and careful with our words and actions. Let us pray.
