Duke was baffled by an MLA
A letter from David McNarry:
I remember at a Buckingham Palace garden party Prince Philip picked me out in a group.
With that unique mischievous smile he asked, ‘What do you do?’ My stuttered reply was ‘I am an MLA’.
To which he looked mystified, inquiring ‘What on earth is that?’ Given a short explanation he smiled and wished me good luck.
I shouldn’t have but I winked in appreciation. Thankfully he graciously nodded!
