Dublin marathon cancelled due to Covid-19 - ‘we know this is extremely disappoointing for all runners’

The 2020 Dublin Marathon which had been scheduled for October 25 has been cancelled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Organisers say all entries for the race due to take place will be valid in 2021.

In a statement race director Jim Aughney said: “We know this is extremely disappointing for all runners, especially those who secured marathon entries.

“We made the difficult decision in the best interest of the health and wellbeing of all those involved in making our events such a success from runners, supporters, volunteers, sponsors, to suppliers.”
