Emergency services rushed to vehicle fire on M2 - lane remains closed

A post on TrafficwatchNI said: “#Belfast #M2-The M2 is closed Northbound at Sandykowes following a vehicle fire.

“Diversions are in place.

“Road users should slow down and approach with caution.”

A later post from TrafficwatchNI adds: “#Belfast #M2-Lane 1 of the M2 remains closed Northbound at JCT 4 #Sandykowes following a vehicle fire.

“The incident is now passable in Lane 2.

“Traffic is now returning to normal.”

A Tweet from Police Antrim and Newtownabbey adds: “Motorists are asked to avoid the Sandyknowes junction following a report of a vehicle on fire.

“Lane 1 of the M2 northbound remains closed to facilitate recovery of vehicle.”
