The fatal accident saw the bonfire in the Braniel area of the city lit in his memory on Saturday night, the community first holding a minute’s silence to honour him.

Details published this afternoon describe him as the “beloved son of Joan and the late Robert” as well as the “devoted father of Taylor, Lacey and Cole and cherished brother of Glenn and Mark”.

Late of Holywood Road, his funeral service is to be held from his brother’s home on Belfast’s Redcliffe Drive on Monday at 1.30pm, followed by Roselawn Crematorium for 3.20pm.

His grieving relatives have asked that flowers come solely from the family.

Messages published with funeral notices stated he “will be sadly missed by his loving family circle”, adding: “Tomorrow is promised to no-one, today is all we have.”

In the aftermath of his death at the weekend, members of the community paid tribute to Mr Lyttle, his devastated daughter Lacey taking to Facebook to write: “Never did I think I’d have to write this so soon.

“Rest easy Daddy, wouldn’t change you for the world. I will love you forever. Until we meet again.”

On Sunday, a Braniel man posted on social media that he was “in complete shock”, adding that on Saturday night the community “came together to pay tribute to the character that was Aka”.
