Conor Taggart, 23, from Jordanstown and Victoria McClements, 20, from Antrim, are called Bello Duo and began singing together during for the clap for carers initiative
Conor explained: “Initially, this was all in aid of our wonderful health service and our keyworkers who had been fighting the horrific battle of Covid-19. “Every Thursday night, we would stand in the street and serenade the neighbours to show our appreciation for the amazing frontline workers saving lives.”
Within a few weeks of lockdown, their Thursday night show had become very popular and a few of their videos reached over 150,000 views.
And now, Bello Duo has just released their first album ‘Out Of The Darkness’ featuring their own version of ‘Danny Boy’.
Conor added: “We have also filmed our first video featuring some of Northern Ireland’s iconic spots - the video combined has over 300,000 views and our album is now selling really well with orders worldwide.
“Most recently, our Danny Boy single hit No.1 on the iTunes vocal chart in South Africa and the full album is now being played on London FM.”
The pair take original anthems and transform them into duets, coming up with their own arrangements and harmonies. They also write their own original music.
