Cllr Eóin Tennyson said Cllr Stephen Moutray should apologise. “The original post from Gregory Campbell was ignorant, insulting and totally bizarre.

“It is unacceptable that Stephen Moutray appeared to endorse Mr Campbell’s remarks by ‘liking’ the post.

“Equality is one of the twelve principles of conduct prescribed in the Code of Conduct for Councillors. Cllr Moutray has clearly fallen short in this regard and his actions have the potential to bring the Council into disrepute. Casual racism cannot go unchallenged. Cllr Moutray must distance himself from these irresponsible remarks.”

Cllr Moutray declined to comment.
