Two men have been killed in a road traffic collision in Donegal.

Gardaí in Letterkenny are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the Letterkenny dual carriageway in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

At approximately 4.45am a car collided head on with a van on the inbound carriageway of the N13 dual carriageway at Trimragh, Letterkenny. The occupants of the car, two males understood to be aged in their late teens and 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van (male 40) was taken by ambulance to University Hospital, Letterkenny. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The inbound stretch of the dual carriageway is currently closed to traffic and diversions are in place. Garda forensic collision investigators have been requested to examine the scene and the local coroner has been notified.
